Every Move You Make – feature

The movements of African dance are meant to express the spirituality of important rituals: weddings, harvests or funerals. Dr. Benita Brown is a professor of Dance at Virginia State University. She has made several trips to West African villages to learn about the role of dance in community and bring that knowledge back to her students. Producer Jesse Dukes visited her studio to watch a short dance lesson.
