Horses and water in the Civil War
June 4th, 2011

From potable water to the forgotten impact of things like weather and horses on the outcome of the war, With Good Reason will bring you highlights from the 2011 Signature Conference of the Virginia Sesquicentennial of the American Civil War Commission.  Some of the country’s most eminent Civil War scholars including  James Robertson, Jr. (Virginia Tech), William C. Davis (Virginia Tech) and an equine specialist John M. Bowen discuss the forgotten elements of the conflict.

  • great program (as usual)… a lot of revelations. Above I think you must mean “Email (required)” not “Mail (required)” and you MUST MUST MUST make the security words easier to recognize… upside down “r”??? give me a break!! you are losing contributors who get frustrated with these barriers!

  • I just received the notice about “Horses and Water in the Civil War” which would be of interest to me but today is June 9th–a bit too late for the June 4th program. Are there other dates and times scheduled for the New River Valley?

  • Mark, sorry you’re frustrated by the comment spam test. Unfortunately we have no control over the words that show up there. They kind of have to be hard to read in order to do their job and keep our comment sections from getting over run by spam.

If you have trouble reading any of them in the future, click the little refresh arrows just below the security words to get something easier to read.
